Match Secretary Comment (AF): Assessed 3 Penalty Points for this game and 3 Penalty Points for game against CVCC played on 11/13 because MR and scoresheets not entered and scoresheet not submitted to Match Secretary within required time limit ***** 2011/12 Winter League T20 South Group: SharX @ Santa Clara SOX Date: 11/05/2011 -- Saturday Played at: Santa Clara Cricket Ground Umpires: Mr. S Shaikh (Hansot CC) Toss: Won by SharX who elected to Bat first. SharX 127/6 in 20 overs(Meer 52, Zafar 35, Wakas H 6 -- Shantanu 2/10, Venkat 1/16, Shiva 1/17) defeated Santa Clara SOX 125/5 in 20 overs (Rohit 33, Mihir 24, Kailash 11* -- Avinash 2/25, Sameer Essa 1/10 & Yasser 1/18) Match Report: Silicon Valley SharX emerged on top after a tightly contested match that went down to a nail biting finish till the last ball of the chase. After winning the toss, the SharX lost 2 quick wickets before Zafar Rizvi steadied the innings with a well crafted 35. Momentum was injected to the innings by captain Meer Ghaznavi with a quick fire 52, for the SOX Shantanu Divekar bowled with menace and accuracy. The SOX chase got off to a bad start with the loss Karthik early. They then lost Shiva as the SharX constricted the runs with some tight bowling and good ground fielding. The last part of the match came down to the SOX needing around 10 an over for the last 7-8 overs, Rohit batted aggressively but at the loss of his wicket it became all the more difficult for the SOX. The last over bowled by Avinash was exhilarating with the SOX needing 20 off it, a six from Gagandeep and a couple of wides later it came down to 4 needed off the last ball, but Avinash kept his cool and conceded only a bye to give the SharX a victory by only 2 runs. The match was played in great spirit and the umpiring was spotless and very professional from Mr. S Shaikh from Hansot CC Edited by - ghaznavi41 on 11/07/2011
