Match notes :
B-Division: Indus-1 @ SCCC-3 Date: 04/18/2010 Played at: W.A. Wilson Ground, Santa Clara Umpires: Kaka && ?? ( United) Toss: Won by SCCC-3 and elected to bat Santa Clara -3 : 206 all-out in 43 overs ( Candy 85, Sagar 25, Chandu 24, Kalyan 8-0-36-5, Neer 9-0-46-2, Sunny 9-1-43-2) lost to Indus-1 : 207-6 in 42.3 overs ( Preetam 58, Neer 50, Rishi*t 9/1/31/1, Appu Chacha-8-1-28-1) On a nice warm day perfect for cricket, Seas won the toss and elected to bat first and lost the first wicket in the fourth ball of the day to Kalyan who picked up Sandesh lbw. Chandu and Sagar, then stitched a partnership to take the score to 53/1 and then Chandu fell trying to pull a short ball from Neer just before drinks. Sagar played some excellent drives and looked set for a big innings but followed soon after drinks trying to clear mid-off. With the fall of 2 quick wickets Vicky joined Chandrodaya and they put together a very good 50 run partnership when vicky fell trying to accelerate the innings. Chandrodaya played a brilliant, chance-less innings for his fluent 85 and guided the Seas to a good total even though wickets were falling around him quickly. Chandrodaya played some excellent shots and was the 9th wicket to fall trying to push the score and missed a very well deserved century. Kalyan bowled really well for Indus-I picking up 5 wickets and was instrumental in restricting Seas to 206 all out in 43 overs. Indus opening the innings with Praveen Koka and Amit started the chase cautiously. Rishit and Chandu started the bowling for Seas and kept the Indus-I scoring in check at the start. Rishit playing his first game for Santa Clara bowled with a lot of fire and good pace to beat all the batsmen and picked up the wicket of Praveen falling lbw in the 9th over. Amit followed soon to Appu Chacha who again bowled a brilliant spell giving away just 28 runs in his 8 overs and picking up a wicket. Seas did a good job, fielding with a lot of enthusiasm and bowling with purpose to keep Indus down to 45 in the first session. Manoj, again playing the first game for Santa Clara picked up the 3rd wicket of Sashi after drinks. After that, it was all Indus. Preetam and Neer both played very intelligent cricket to pick the quick singles, placing the ball in the gaps and getting boundaries at important times to relieve pressure. They took the game away from Santa Clara with a very good partnership. Overall it was an interesting game played in good spirits. Excellent umpiring by the umpires from United-I
